AIA Survey Examines Health and Wellbeing of Employees

HONG KONG, 5 March 2018 – AIA Group Limited (“AIA” or the “Company”; stock code: 1299), the largest independent publicly listed pan-Asian life insurance group, announced today the launch of the 2018 Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality (the “Survey”), a comprehensive survey of the health and wellbeing of employees around Asia-Pacific.

The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality1, which is now in its second year, will survey a broad range of organisations and their workforces from different industries across Australia, Hong Kong and Malaysia. The Survey is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of employees’ health and wellbeing which in turn gives employers useful strategies in support of achieving healthy living goals and improving productivity.

Shah Rouf, CEO of AIA’s Group Corporate Solutions, said: “AIA is proud to be launching the Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality for the second year. The health and wellbeing of employees has never been more important and can save businesses’ billions of dollars every year. Our inaugural survey in 2017 found that an average of 59.8 days of productivity per employer are lost to absenteeism and presenteeism2 every year in Asia Pacific3, which sends a clear message that identifying and addressing risks to employee health is critical to business performance.

“It’s our goal to equip employers with the best insights and strategies to help improve business productivity while also improving wellbeing in the workplace and helping employees in the Asia-Pacific region to live healthier, longer, better lives.”

The Healthiest Workplace by AIA Vitality is free to enter and is open to any organisation with a minimum of 20 employees. Registration will be open from now until the end of May. The Survey will identify each market’s Healthiest Employer, Healthiest Employees and Healthiest Workplace across a range of organisation size categories. Winners from each market will be announced at a later date between September and November 2018.

Each participating employer will receive an ‘Organisational Assessment Report’ which includes the findings from both employer and employee responses. AIA will also provide each participating employee a comprehensive overview of their health and wellbeing in terms of lifestyle, clinical indicators, mental health, stress and other areas that may concern them, as well as a personal report detailing their AIA Vitality Age.
