AIA China opens new sales and service centres in Tianjin and Shijiazhuang, Hebei

AIA Returns to Tianjin After More Than 90 Years


TIANJIN, 29 July 2019 – AIA China is pleased to announce that its Beijing branch office has received approvals from the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) Tianjin Bureau and Hebei Bureau to open sales and service centres in Tianjin and Shijiazhuang, Hebei. AIA Group Chief Executive and President Ng Keng Hooi, AIA Group Regional Chief Executive John Cai and AIA China Chief Executive Officer Fisher Zhang officiated at the opening ceremony of the first AIA Tianjin Sales and Service Centre today.

Ng Keng Hooi, AIA Group’s Chief Executive and President, said at the opening ceremony, “We are delighted to have been granted approvals to establish sales and service centres in Tianjin and Shijiazhuang. AIA traces our roots back to Shanghai in 1919 and we originally had a presence in Tianjin over 90 years ago. China is an integral part of both AIA’s history and our future. We look forward to extending our track record of significant contribution to the development of the insurance industry in China as it fully opens its life insurance market in due course.”

AIA was granted the approval in accordance with the regulatory policy and pilot programme of promoting insurance integration under the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Integration Plan.

AIA China now has operations in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangdong, Jiangsu, Tianjin and Shijiazhuang.
